Mumbai Indians have finally tasted victory in IPL 7 and in the process have ended the winning streak of the Kings XI Punjab.

Mumbai Indians have finally tasted victory in IPL 7 and in the process have ended the winning streak of the Kings XI Punjab. This was Mumbai’s first victory after five defeats in the UAE. On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab who won five in a row during the UAE leg of IPL 7 lost their first match.

Kieron Pollard with 28 not out from 12 balls and Aditya Tare with 16* from 6 balls carried Mumbai Indians to a 5-wicket win with five balls to spare. Mumbai Indians needing 169 to win were struggling to find momentum before Corey J Anderson changed things around with a smashing 35 from 25 balls.

Earlier, Kings XI Punjab posted a healthy total of 168 for 5 with Wicket Keeper Wriddiman Saha top scoring with 59 from 47 balls while Glenn Maxwell scored 45 from 27 balls.

Toss and Teams: Kings XI Punjab have won the toss and elected to bat first against hosts Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in what is Match 22 of IPL 7. Kings XI Punjab remain unchanged while Mumbai Indians have brought in Jasprit Bumrah for Pragyan Ojha.
