India legend VVS Laxman rates Sourav Ganguly as the best captain he played under, and also said he would pick Rahul Dravid to bat for his life. Laxman made the observations at the India Today Conclave South 2018.

It may be recalled that Laxman’s 281 had a significant role in reviving Ganguly’s career as captain as India won the 2001 series 2-1. As for the toughest bowler to face, Laxman said in an India Today report that it was undoubtedly Wasim Akram.

While Laxman revealed that former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan was the best roommate he ever had, he did not choose between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli when asked to as both are legends in their own right.

Speaking about the current Indian team in Australia, Laxman said he saw India winning 3-1. He went on to term India and England favourites for next year’s World Cup.

"India and England favourites. Being an Indian, I want India to win. I am not going to remove my shirt at Lord's.

That's a challenge posed by Sourav to Virat. Happy to leave it to them,” Laxman said on a lighter note.
