Since we first saw T20 cricket come to life back in 2003, the fast paced version of the game has gone from strength to strength. We now have a number of domestic leagues taking place throughout the year, and regular T20 internationals when teams face each other. With this increase, the number of T20 betting opportunities has also increased, and if you are looking for a way to get involved in T20 cricket betting, here are three key things to look at.

The Coin Toss

When placing your bets with the many UK betting sites that accept T20 cricket wagers, try and hold off until you know the outcome of the toss. While this has a psychological impact on the game, it also affects the conditions in which teams bat. Some T20 games are day/night games, which means the team batting first would bat in the daylight and those batting second would bat under the floodlights, which can have a massive impact on batting conditions and make things much easier, or tougher, for a team to win.

The Weather

If five overs are played in each innings then the game stands and the Duckworth-Lewis method will be used to determine the winner. If rain is forecast then this could happen, and the fewer the overs played, the more the game becomes a lottery, so be wary of the weather and bet accordingly if there is a bad forecast where the game is taking place.

Star Players

In T20 cricket, a handful of fantastic overs from either a batsman or bowler can be the difference between winning and losing the game, more so than in any other form of cricket. When looking down the line ups for the game you are betting on, take this into account and look for match winners who could win the game for your team
