Tamil Nadu will face Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy Final 2011/12 after winning their Semi-Final match against Mumbai today based on their first innings lead. Skipper Lakshmipathy Balaji led the way for Tamil Nadu taking four wickets as hosts Mumbai collapsed to 157 in their first innings in reply to Tamil Nadu’s 359.

Tamil Nadu then declared its second innings at 331 for 8 which was built on opener Murali Vijay’s 142 (from 250 balls with 21 fours and 2 sixes). Young medium pacer Balwinder Singh Sandhu claimed 5 for 74 for the hosts. Tamil Nadu left Mumbai with an impossible target of 534 and the hosts finished the match in a draw at 88 for 3.

The Ranji Trophy 2011/12 Final will be played from the 19th between Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
