Debutant Kyle Abbott with his steady fast medium bowling demolished Pakistan with dream figures of 7 for 29 in 11.4 overs on Test match Debut to have Pakistan staring at a defeat going into the third day. Pakistan following on in their second innings have already lost a wicket and have a deficit of 239 runs to clear.

The second day’s play of this Third and Final Test at the SuperSport Park in Centurion saw South Africa ending up with a healthy first innings total of 409. AB de Villiers completed his 16th century. The Wicket Keeper batsman finished with a knock of 121 (from 215 balls with 15 fours) while his overnight partner Vernon Philander went onto score 74 (from 113 balls with 9 fours). For the Pakistanis, Rahat Ali claimed career best figures of 6 for 127.

Pakistan in reply to SA’s 409 got off to a fine start of 46 for no loss before losing wickets in a heap. The visitors slipped to 56 for 3 in the space of 13 balls and after that it was Kyle Abbott demolishing them completely having all his victims edging behind the stumps. Pakistan got bundled out for 156 in 46.4 overs and were asked to follow on. For the record, Younis Khan with 33 and Imran Farhat with 30 were the chief contributors for the visitors

In their second innings, Pakistan lost Mohammad Hafeez to a duck in the very first ball with Dale Steyn trapping him lbw. At the close of play, Pakistan were 14 for 1 in 9 overs with defeat seeming quite inevitable.
