Quotes from the Presentation Ceremony:

Mahela Jaywardene, the victorious Sri Lankan Captain says: "The conditions were suited to us to be fair. Outstanding innings from Dilshan. He took up the responsibility as the senior player and so did Mathews. We needed a good partnership after the loss of three quick wickets. We had to make sure we put up that stand to get over the line. We tried to bring Mathews up the order and give him more responsibility. If he develops well, it is good for Sri Lanka. It gives the team a lot of balance."

Ross Taylor, the losing New Zealand Skipper says: "We played a lot poorer than the other day. Credit to Dilshan. He took the game away from us. There was a little bit of dew that did not help the bowlers. Dislhan and Mathews had a very good partnership. It is pretty frustrating with the rain and when there are only 100 odd people in the ground. I am getting good with prediction of rain in Sri Lanka."

Tillakaratne Dilshan, the Man of the Match for his century says: "Just before the toss, I had some back pain. I wanted to play even if I was 50%. While batting I felt better. Every single run and match is important for the career. The first few overs was difficult. The ground was wet later on also the four fielder rule helped us. In the middle overs it was really helpful."

A superb partnership between centurion Tillakaratne Dilshan and Angelo Mathews has seen Sri Lanka clinch the rain-affected Third ODI at Pallekele by 7 wickets with 11 balls to spare. The hosts have now got a 2-0 lead in the 5-match ODI Series.
