Bangladesh sealed their 3-match ODI Series against New Zealand 2-0 on Thursday at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The Tigers won the Second ODI by a comprehensive margin of 40 runs.
Batting first, Bangladesh were bowled out for a competitive total of 247 in 49 overs. Opener Tamim Iqbal was the top scorer with 58 from 86 balls with 5 fours and a six. Momimul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim chipped in with 31 runs each. For the Kiwis, Jimmy Neesham and Corey J Anderson took four wickets each.
New Zealand struggled in their run chase going nowhere at 106 for 4 in 27 overs. Eventually they were bowled out for 207 in 46.4 overs with Sohag Gazi and Mashrafe Mortaza taking three wickets each. The top scorer for the Kiwis was former Captain Ross Taylor with a slow 45 from 82 balls.
